Software Engineer

About the Job:

CXR Larus Corp develops, manufactures and markets a broad range of test instruments used by the operators of public and private telecommunications networks, utility companies, government agencies and transportation for the installation, maintenance and optimization of advanced public and private communications networks.

As a Software Engineer in the R&D Department, you will be responsible for providing software technical expertise by researching, recommending, estimating, prototyping, and developing software for new product, and existing products.


Responsibilities
In this role the software developer will work closely with in an engineering team that develops market required features, and continuously improves the functionally and features of Timing products.
The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating, resolving technical problems and bugs reported by the field.
This position requires development of software fixes and delivery of software solutions to customers.
In this role the candidate will work to develop and improve core features on both Timing products and Halcyon Test Set.
Verbal and written communication skills are keys to this role to successfully interact with members of other teams such as: Marketing, Documentation and Test Engineering services.

Qualifications
Bachelor degree in computer/engineering related field or equivalent work experience.
2 to 5 years professional experience Linux/UNIX and VxWorks environment.
Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and layer 7 protocols.
C/C++ as well as other languages, such as Java.
Knowledge of underlying web technologies including HTTP, HTML, and JavaScript.
Knowledge of networking management protocol, such as SNMP, and TL1.
Knowledge of networking products such as routers, firewalls, Windows and/or Linux/UNIX servers.
Knowledge of Telecom, such as T1, E1
Ability to rapidly pick up new technologies.
Conveys thoughts clearly in both written and verbal communications.
Proven ability to deliver products with highest quality and on time. Demonstrable appreciation for user experience.
