CXR Larus Announces New StarSyncTM 5850 Versions
to Target Worldwide Telco, Governmental and Enterprise Markets
Versions supporting E1 Standards and IRIG-B Now AvailableSan Jose, Calif., July 13, 2006 – CXR Larus, a world class
manufacturer of network timing, test, and access solutions today
announced the newest additions to its extensive lineup of industry
standard synchronization and timing systems; a new series of StarSyncTM 5850 GPS Primary Reference Source products, and the new
StarSyncTM 5850E line.
The telco preferred StarSyncTM 5850 family has
been expanded to offer innovative solutions which now can provide 10
Inter-Range Interface Group- Time Code Format B (IRIG-B) outputs per
self contained 2 Rack Unit (2 RU) high enclosure. These products meet
all the requirements of IRIG Standard 205-87, and are targeted towards
governmental and enterprise companies employing modern-day and Next
Generation networks requiring Stratum 1 traceable timing. Examples are
utility communication and control networks, data and transaction
handling systems, missile and spacecraft tracking, telemetry systems and
others requiring precise time-of-day information for data correlation
with respect to time. Both Transaction Language 1 (TL1) and Menu option
versions are available as Model 5850 Lists 14 and 15 respectively for
complete control flexibility. Both versions offer a minimum of Stratum 2
holdover in the event of a GPS failure.
The new StarSyncTM 5850E is based on the same
as the industry proven technology as the StarSyncTM
5850 with the exception that the four DS1 outputs standard on the 5850 are
replaced with four E1 outputs. The E1 outputs meet all the Primary
Reference Clock (PRC) requirements of international CCITT (ITU-T)
Standards G.811, G.812, G.703 and G.704, ensuring full compatibility
with world wide networks beyond North America. As with the 5850 both TL1
and Menu versions are available, but in addition there are options for
either Transit Node Clock (TNC) or Local Node Clock (LNC) holdover in
the event of a GPS failure. An interface adapter is available as an
option to provide 75 ohm balanced BNC outputs.
Both the StarSyncTM 5850 and 5850E systems
are fully NEBS Level 3 compliant, and certified per the rigorous
Bellcore GR-1089 and GR-63-CORE standards. For a copy of the 5850 GPS Stratum 1 Primary Reference Source
