FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CXR Larus Announces Release of Zero Footprint Integrated GPS Stratum 1
NTP Server for Enterprise and Utility Markets
Innovative StarSync 6840 offers reliable timing for Next
Generation IP Networks, while utilizing zero rackspace San Jose, Calif., March 25, 2009 – CXR Larus, a
leading manufacturer of advanced Next Generation timing and network
access solutions today announced the newest addition to its extensive
lineup of synchronization and timing products; a new “zero
footprint” integrated GPS Stratum 1 NTP Server specially suited for the
Enterprise and Utility Markets.
The specially designed CXR Larus StarSync 6840 delivers an entirely new
level of reliability and performance for network timing. The StarSync
6840 is an outdoor pole mounted Network Time Protocol (NTP) server that
embodies its own timing management interface and provides tools for
diagnosis, monitoring and alarms.
Other key features include: • Hardware based 100 Mbps wirespeed NTP processing • Nanosecond timestamp accuracy & 100,000+ packets per second capacity • Integrated Web Server • Utilizes Power over Ethernet (PoE) • Outdoor temperature hardened for the most severe environments • SNMP V3 Security, SSH and Telnet support • Immune to load based Denial of Service attacks Regarding the StarSync 6840, Larry Taillie, President of CXR Larus
Corporation commented; “We are pleased to announce that the StarSync
6840 is the latest in a line of industry leading Next Generation timing
products to come from our collaborative efforts with Brilliant
Telecommunications of Campbell, CA. Beside the unmatched capacity and
accuracy of the product, the most unique feature of the new StarSync
6840, separating it from the rest of the field, is the innovative use of
Power over Ethernet (PoE, IEEE-802.3af) technology, meaning that the
StarSync 6840 NTP server is completely “zero footprint” in an office or
collocation site. This eliminates the requirement for paying monthly or
yearly fees for co-location, and most importantly, frees up valuable
rackspace in the datacenter.”
The StarSync 6840 is an ideal Stratum 1 NTP solution for
Enterprise and Utility company datacenters. Enterprise users, such as
healthcare institutions and financial centers will find it easier than
ever to meet the event time-stamping requirements of HIPAA and
Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), with Carrier-Class Stratum 1 accuracy and
reliability and capacity unparalleled in the industry. Utility customers
will find the StarSync 6840 the perfect solution for providing
nanosecond NTP timing for automated distribution sites, switching
centers and central billing offices. In addition, Stratum 2 holdover is
available when used in office networks where other StarSync 6840 or CXR
Larus StarSync 6850 NTP Servers are deployed.
The CXR Larus StarSync 6840 Zero Footprint Integrated NTP Server is
available now for immediate delivery in production quantities. To download the datasheet for the StarSync 6840, CLICK HERE About CXR Larus
