For Immediate Release:
CXR Larus Unveils New Configurable Range of Edge Clocks for Worldwide Telecom Market StarClock TiemPo 6400TM sets new standards for Timing Sources which support both current and Next Generation Network (NGN) requirements San Jose, Calif., Jan 11, 2007 – CXR Larus, a leading manufacturer of network timing solutions today announced the latest additions to its extensive lineup of industry standard synchronization and timing systems; The StarClock TiemPo 6400™. The TiemPo 6400 is a totally integrated and modular system for seamless use in T1, E1, 2.048 MHz, CC, 5 and 10MHz, and Next Generation network packet synchronization applications, and provides flexible and cost effective solutions to Stratum 1/PRC, Enhanced Stratum 2 (2E), Stratum 2/TNC, and Stratum 3E/LNC digital and packet transmission timing and synchronization requirements. The Tiempo is available in both ANSI and ETSI versions, and will service the worldwide market. The TiemPo is designed to provide timing for DACS, SONET and SDH equipment, digital switches, VoIP media gateways, softswitches, DWDM equipment, IPTV vocoders, wireless equipment, and telco channel banks, and meets or exceeds all relevant North American and European telecommunications standards. •Simple software selection for DS1/E1: The system can be utilized in either North American DS1 or worldwide E1 environments simply by selecting the appropriate software menu selections. •Individual port configuration: Thanks to the unique architecture of the TiemPo, one can set both input and output port configuration settings port-by-port, not just card-to-card. The TiemPo is the first product in the industry to give demanding customers this degree of flexibility and ease of configuration. •Wide operating range: TheTiemPo is also the first product of its type to be certified for outside plant (OSP) use due to its standard wide -30oC to 65o C operating temperature range, and the ability to operate from either office battery (-48 Vdc), or +24 Vdc. The TiemPo can be deployed in most OSP applications, (such as remote cell sites), without the requirement for expensive air conditioning equipment, or bulky power converters. •Configurable: The TiemPo circuit card provisioning settings and operating functions are software generated, affording both speed and flexibility in system application changes, testing, and monitoring. •Density: Each of the output cards provide 8 outputs and the Master shelf can accommodate up to 8 output cards. The maximum number of outputs per Master shelf is 64, and can be incorporated into 1:1 protected outputs. In addition, optional Expansion shelves are available. Future TiemPo software upgrades can be done simply and efficiently through the network management connection, without the requirement to take the unit out of service. •Options: Optional RF input modules include a choice of Stratum 1 GPS or CDMA receivers for ultra precise network timing requirements, and optional output modules include IRIG-B, sinewave, Time Code, and a Retiming Timing Insertion Unit (RTIU). The TiemPo can also be used as a Network Time Server with optional SNTP V4 support. Available in 2007, Timing over Packet (ToP) per the evolving IEEE-61588 standards will be available on the TiemPo to satisfy the requirements of Next Generation packet-based networks. The TiemPo also offers optional internal system monitoring and performance measurement combined with remote and local reporting in TL1 format or pull down menu. •OptionalElement Management System (StarLink TM EMS) for complete network control, or a simple-to-use TL1 GUI Interface, CXRViewTM Larry Taillie, President of CXR Larus stated: “CXR Larus has always been noted for its innovative broad range of telecom products and with the release of the StarClock TiemPo we continue to reaffirm our commitment to providing advanced solutions for today’s and future networks. The TiemPo is a highly scaleable architectural platform that will allow us to address the current circuit switch network timing and synchronization needs as well as provide of the future needs of the Timing over Packet (TOP) Next Generation Networks that are being deployed. The TiemPo platform will serve not only the edge and remote network nodes but is modular in design to be expanded to several hundred outputs for the larger central office applications of the carrier community. Graham Jefferies, Executive Vice President and COO of EMRISE commented : “The development of the StarClock TiemPo at CXR Larus continues to confirm the commitment of EMRISE to providing growth in the telecommunications business segment through investment in leading edge product technology that will serve the future needs of our customers on a worldwide basis. We expect the TiemPo platform to provide significant growth in our timing and synchronization sales not only in North America but in EMEA as well through marketing via the CXR Anderson Jacobson channel in France. We are very pleased with the development and products coming from CXR Larus. This coupled with the new products coming from France will position our telecommunications group for growth on a worldwide basis in 2007 and beyond.” About CXR Larus
