CXR Larus offers a selection of Automatic Protection Switch (APS) products. When applied at each end of a DS1 or E1 facility, the APS selects the normal working facility for traffic or transfers traffic to/from a protection facility.

5702 DS1 RouteSwitch (Single Ended 1+1 protection)
The CXR Larus Model 5702 RouteSwitch™ is a DS1 automatic protection single ended switch that provides cost-effective, self-healing network capabilities in the event of cable cuts, electronic failures, or node failures. Compatible with the AT&T DDM-1000* and DDM-2000* Multiplexers, the RouteSwitch ensures consistently high quality received DS1 signal. This APS is especially suitable in SONET and microwave radio ring networks.
There are two versions of the 5702 circuit pack available. The 5702-1A unit does not switch on AIS received on the Facility (Network) side, while the 5702-1B unit does.
The card modules fit into CXR Larus Model 5702-3 (19/23 inch) 12 slot shelf, or the 5702-11 Remote shelf, which holds 2 cards. There are also ordering options for Remote Terminals which are complete with circuit packs for ease of customer ordering.
 For customers that require network reporting and management capability, the 5700 RouteSwitch Monitor Unit is now available, providing a Graphical User Interface through a web browser, TCP/IP control and SNMP. It also provides either TTL and dry contact outputs for local shelf alarms, automatically interfacing with the E2A alarm structure. In addition, the RouteSwitch monitor unit has a Real Time Clock for time stamping up to two weeks of stored alarm events

5703 E1 RouteSwitchTM (Single Ended 1+1 protection)
The CXR Larus 5703 E1 RouteSwitch™ is a 1+1 E1 automatic protection single ended switch that provides cost-effective, self-healing network capabilities in the event of cable cuts, electronic failures, or node failures. Compatible with different E1 frame formats, the 5703 RouteSwitch is switch selected for the proper frame format and coding. The system accepts both AMI and HDB3 line coding. The card modules fit into the CXR Larus Model 5702-3 (19/23 inch) 12 slot shelves, or the Model 5702-11 Remote shelf, which holds two cards.
For customers that require network reporting and management capability, the 5700 RouteSwitch Monitor Unit is now available, providing a Graphical User Interface (GUI) through a HTTP web browser, TCP/IP control, and SNMP.
